Game sharks seem to be the catch of the week, with fishing in general being quite good. On a night charter aboard the Lady Pamela II last night, our anglers hooked up a big 10 foot thresher shark. This is the first thresher we ever caught at night and it was a pretty spectacular sight once we got the monster alongside the boat. One of my good fishing friends reported catching a 9 foot tiger shark while kingfishing yesterday. During March of last year, Lady Pamela sportfishing caught three tiger sharks off Ft. Lauderdale.
The kingfishing and blackfin tuna fishing was red hot at the beginning of this week but it has since slowed down. There are a few mahi-mahi to be found offshore but no reports of any monster fish. The nighttime snapper fishing has been quite good with plenty of yellowtails, vermilions, and a few mangrove snappers.
