The Lady Pamela II morning trip today was three anglers on a shared sportfishing charter. We trolled for a while but fishing was slow, as we only caught one kingfish. We moved on to kite fishing using live baits, fishing in this one spot for three hours. Mike caught one 12 lb mahi-mahi and we missed a small shark. When time was up we reeled in the baits and headed to the barn. On the way home though I happened to see a hammerhead swimming on the surface. I told my mate JJ to rig a big kingfish with a wire rig and he got it out as fast as he could. Sure enough, we hooked the hammerhead on 80 lb test and our anglers had a nice fight to round out the day.
