September 20-23, 2014
The weather has cooled down just a bit which is making the September fishing really pleasant. This past week the Lady Pamela II hooked into a few big game sharks in about 300 ft. of water. One was a nice hammerhead estimated at 350 lbs that was caught and released. Trolling outside the reef is producing bonitos and some kings. On one of our afternoon trips on Sunday we made a few drops on a shipwreck and hooked up a 40 lb. amberjack. There are groupers around these wrecks as well, but no hookups on Sunday.
We are starting to see a few more sailfish with the cooler weather. The east winds that are predicted over the next 3 or 4 days are perfect for kitefishing in around 200 ft. of water. Live baits hanging below the kites are no doubt the most productive way to put sailfish in the boat.
The Lady Pamela II driftboat is finding a lot of yellowtail snapper for our bottomfishing anglers, along with grunts and a few grey triggers.
