Captain Darin and mate Mike were out this afternoon on the Lady Pamela II for a three hour charter. They started off trolling the reef edge and quickly hooked up a few Spanish mackerel. These tasty fish have just started showing up with the bait schools that continue to move into the Fort Lauderdale area. They are a lot of fun to catch on light tackle and go crazy over small trolling spoons. Once the anglers got warmed up to catching fish the crew moved out into 130 feet of water where they instantly hooked a sailfish on the high line. While Darin was busy passing the high rod down from the flybridge, a line on one of the planer boards tripped and another sailfish started jumping around the boat. All of a sudden it was a sailfish bonanza! They hooked up two more sails right after that, and they caught one but lost the other. It was a pretty incredible three hours of fishing, and another great day on the water in Fort Lauderdale.
Tight Lines,
