Sailfish Tournaments
This weekend my father Peter and I, along with friends Andrew, Kirk, Russ, Billy, Brian and Jackie, fished the No Rules Sailfish Tournament out of Miami Beach. The “No Rules Sailfish Tournament” started January of 2012 as a small event to have some friends get together and fish against each other simply for bragging rights. It’s an extremely fun event, unlike any of the other sailfish tournaments around. It is an event where fishermen of every skill level can go out and experience what tournament fishing is all about. In 2012 the Lady Pamela II sportfishing team won the tournament with 10 releases. Last year the Lady Pamela II team took 3rd place with 7 releases.
This year we headed south from Fort Lauderdale with 17 dozen live baits and fished all day on Saturday off Miami. Our anglers brought in four out eight sailfish hookups, ending up tied for second place for 2014. A good friend of ours puts on this tournament and he did a great job, with 20 boats participating this year.
