This past week the fishing has been great all over south Florida. I fished a tournament based in Key Largo, and fished anywhere from Key Largo all the way north to Miami. We caught a bunch of big mahi-mahi up to about 25 pounds, a few wahoo and four nice sailfish.

In Fort Lauderdale, the Lady Pamela II charterboats have been catching dusky sharks and a few hammerheads. There are plenty of blackfin tunas around, as well as king mackerel. Bottomfishing for vermilion snappers and gray tilefish has been exceptionally productive.
Some of my fishing buddies have been catching wahoo over 60 lbs north of here and these fish are reportedly moving south. A cold snap expected this weekend should drive these fish into our area and throw both the sailfish and wahoo bite into high gear.
