Jack and his family from Rhode Island came out fishing with Adam and I on an afternoon charter aboard the Lady Pamela II. We heard that the sailfish were biting down south so we motored on down and fished there for a while, but never got a sailfish bite. We did however hook into a 50 lb. kingfish on the kite. This was an amazing catch, without a doubt the largest kingfish ever landed on one of our boats.
After catching our breath from the kingfish fight we bumped out a little deeper and put a few more big baits out, hoping for a sea monster. It took until the end of trip for the big bite. With 5 minutes to go before reeling in, two big scalloped hammerheads showed up and were fighting over the baits. The winner of that fight got hooked up and our anglers fought a 30 minute plus battle before finally getting this nice fish to the boat. What a crazy fishing day this turned out to be.
