Fishing Ft Lauderdale
New Years Eve was an action-packed day for the Lady Pamela sportfishing fleet. The Lady Pamela III had a group of anglers out bottomfishing in the morning and they were treated to a nice mix of fish. They brought in lane and vermilion snappers, groupers, some big gray triggerfish, and even some porgies.
The LP III went back out in the afternoon, trolling the reef edge for toothy predators. The anglers were rewarded with six kingfish, a couple of small (sashimi size) blackfin tunas, and a nice mahi-mahi.
The Lady Pamela I and Lady Pamela II focused on kitefishing for sailfish, with both boats producing fish. The LP II was out on both morning and afternoon charters and caught and released sails on both trips. The LP I was out in the afternoon and also got in on the sailfish action. One fish hit a bait close behind the boat and put on a great aerial display. This fish was green and feisty, and at one point almost jumped in the boat! You never know what to expect when you are out on the water.
