The Lady Pamela III sportfishing boat was busy trolling the outer reef edge in 150 feet of water this morning. Our anglers had already landed a few bonitos when the line on the left rigger exploded out of the clip. The sound of the line singing off the reel told me it had to be a wahoo. I was a little surprised though, as our recent wahoo catches had been much further offshore. Regardless, after a 20 minute battle, it was exciting to finally see that it was indeed a wahoo and to get it in the boat. It was a beautiful 35 lb’er! Way to go guys!
The nighttime anchor trip aboard the Lady Pamela III was just as exciting as the trolling was during the day. The snapper fishing was hot, with all of our fishermen landing plenty of fish. The fish cooler looked like a display from a seafood market with flag yellowtails, gray snappers, vermilions, and a few mutton snappers in the mix. Sure was a good start to the weekend.
