We had a great group of guys from Kentucky with us today that were hoping to catch some dolphin and sailfish. We bought two dozen goggleyes on the way out in the morning for the all-day charter. There was some green water and a nice knot and a half north current right out front of Port Everglades, so we set up there in about 150 feet of water. The sailfish bite was on and we went one for two on the sails right away. Unfortunately one of the guests got seasick so we ran back in to drop him off at the dock. It was nearly noon by this time so we ran the Lady Pamela II offshore and found three nice mahi-mahi and a big African pompano.
To round out the day, we set the kites back out in 200 feet of water looking for more sailfish. The lively goggleyes we had left were just ticket, as our anglers hooked up and landed another three sails. Mahi-mahi, African pompano and four of five sailfish sure made for an exciting full day charter.
