Big Tuna

Every spring we get a run of tuna, usually big blackfins, but there are quite a bit of yellowfin tuna that come through that go unnoticed.  Most of the time, fisherman are not prepared for such a big fish and end up breaking them off after long and hard battles thus becoming fish stories.
Since we fish everyday and know the seasons very well, we are always prepared just in case a big fish eats one of our baits. We want to make sure our anglers have the best chance at catching that fish.
On this day, we got the bite on a TLD 30.  Not exactly light tackle, but not heavy either.  Could be the perfect match for a big tuna.  After some serious runs and up and down battles we finally got the fish close and she was bigger than we even thought, pushing the 200 pound mark.
Our anglers did an AMAZING job.

This is why we like the spring so much. Not only is the sailfish bite on fire, but we have big mahi and tuna around in big numbers. On any given day, especially where there is current you can expect to have a banner day out here in Fort Lauderdale.
