Sailfish Fishing in Fort Lauderdale at it’s finest.
My sail fishing team has been preparing (pre-fishing) for the world famous Miami Sailfish Cup Sail fishing Tournament with a $500,000 cash prize. On Friday, we ran north and went 8 for 10 (caught 8 fish with a total of 10 bites) on the Sailfish bite, all of the bites being singles. On Saturday we ran back to the north and fished live goggle eyes and threadfins. We caught 6 Sailfish with a total of 8 bites by 4:30pm. Today we ran back up north and caught 4 single Sailfish and landed a double header, giving us a total of 6 Sailfish. The Sailfish weren’t the only species plucking at our bait today, either. We also caught a 20 lb Wahoo, a 23 lb King Mackerel and 4 nice size Mahi – Mahi all over 15 lb’s.
Tight Lines and good luck to everyone fishing in the Miami Sailfish Cup.
