Fort Lauderdale Fishing at Its Finest

September 27, 2012
This morning was a sharkfishing trip for Captain JJ and Ray. The crew caught a few fresh baits then moved out to 350 feet of water. It was a perfect weather day for this type of fishing, but it took a long time they finally got a bite. Angler John finally got the fight he was looking for, as a 200 lb tiger shark took the bait. Though frequently seen in the Bahamas, tiger sharks are rarely seen around here. Nice catch!
The afternoon trip saw Captain JJ and Ray trolling fresh bonito strips and ballyhoo behind planer boards. They were fishing along the third reef edge out to 300 feet of water. The afternoon catch was nice mix of kingfish and blackfin tunas. They also landed a few mahi-mahi out in the deeper water.
