Today was a good Saturday in September fishing day for the Lady Pamela II. Captain Chris and Darin did some kite fishing today and caught a few kingfish using live pilchards and googleyes. A big blackfin tuna then grabbed a bait for some added excitement. This was some pretty good action but the trip turned from good to spectacular when a double header of sailfish swam up to the baits. The crew succeeded in getting one of the two billfish hooked up and shortly thereafter a nice 80 inch fish was brought behind the boat for tagging and release. Nice!

Fort Lauderdale Driftfishing

The driftfishing aboard the Lady Pamela III has been very productive these last few weeks. On any given day we’ve been catching gray triggerfish, grunts, yellowtail snappers, and vermillion snappers on the Ft. Lauderdale reefs, in waters ranging from 60-90 feet deep. We are also landing some black and red groupers that tend to show up once the snapper start biting. We caught one 20 lb black that ate one of the vermillion snappers that our angler was reeling in! Some of our anglers have even had success running surface flatlines to catch kingfish during the drifts.

Tight Lines,
