The Lady Pamela II sportfishing boat had some great fishing catching fishing action this afternoon. Seawitch feathers tipped with bonito strips were deadly on the bonitos, as our anglers hooked up more than 20 of the aggressive speedsters during the 4 hour charter. They also landed a few blackfin tunas; just enough for sashimi! As if that action wasn’t enough, the crew also went one for two on sailfish right at the end of the busy trip.

This morning the Lady Pamela II trolled the outer edge of the third reef off Ft. Lauderdale landing some blackfin tunas and a few kingfish in 90-110 feet of water. Captain David then moved the boat out to 350 of water and found a big dusky shark ready for battle. This was a good-sized fish that made for a fun fight. Then it was photos and a release so it could fight another day.
Sharks were still on the fishing menu in the afternoon trip as the Lady Pamela II started the trip hooking up a mid-sized scalloped hammerhead shark. These sharks often school together, resulting in multiple hookups, but today only one was caught and released. Our anglers also boated 7 bonitos caught over the reef. A single mahi-mahi was also caught; just enough for dinner!
Drift Fishing
The Lady Pamela III drift boat has been making daily trips, keeping anglers busy catching a variety of species. Today, the grey triggerfish were all over the baits as soon as the boat got in position on the reef. It didn’t take long for the yellowtail and grey snappers to get in the mix though. All the action of baits going down and fish coming up attracted a few kingfish and bonitos that our anglers gladly hooked up. It sure made for some added excitement on the boat!
The nighttime anchor trips have been super productive with snappers. These trips, which run from 7-11 p.m., have been bringing in nice catches of mostly yellowtail and grey snappers. Give us a call and let’s go fishing!
Tight lines,
Capt David Ide
