Fort Lauderdale Fishing Forecast for December
December 1, 2014
I am excited that December and cooler weather is finally here so we can get going on the sailfish. This time last year it seemed like we were hooking up at least two sails on every trip. The real challenge is the weather, as the seas will kick up as each new cold front moves through the South Florida area. The good news is that the Lady Pamela II sportfishing boats can easily handle a little bit of choppy water, and it’s the disturbed seas that really get the sailfish hot to bite. Along with sailfish, I expect to see a little bit of everything off of Ft. Lauderdale this month. There should be plenty of kingfish, bonitos, and blackfin tunas around, and the winter wahoo bite should kick off here in the next few weeks.
The Lady Pamela III driftfishing boat has been bringing in a mixed bag of snappers along with some nice red and black groupers. Mangrove snappers should be particularly plentiful this month. Our four hour driftfishing trips are only $45 per person and are a great way to get out fishing on a budget.
