Lady Pamela boats I and IV of the Lady Pamela sportfishing fleet, along with the Lady Pamela III driftboat, were busy on the water today catching a variety of Ft. Lauderdale gamefish. Lady Pamela I worked the outer reef edge this morning, trolling up some aggressive barracudas and kingfish. One barracuda, going 30 lbs put on a great aerial display, jumping clear out of the water, tailwalking, and flipping.
The anglers on the Lady Pamela IV also landed a few kingfish as well as a nice wahoo. The wahoo fishing has been spotty over the past few weeks, so this was a nice surprise catch. The LP IV crew also spent a little time sharkfishing, catching and releasing two nice sandbar sharks. One was over six feet, which is big for sandbar sharks, as their maximize size is only about seven feet.
The driftboat had a good Friday night fishing trip, with the crew anchoring in 80 feet of water and chumming up a mix of yellowtail, and vermilion snapper. A few small grouper were also caught and released. Overall, it was a nice way to end a busy fishing week.
