The Thanksgiving holiday is fast upon us and the fishing could not be better. The first real cold front of the season came through and while it has the seas a little bumpy, the sailfishing has been awesome! The kite fishing has been the most productive using live goggleyes to tempt the sailfish. On nearly every trip so far this week, we have caught at least one sailfish, and their acrobatics have been unbelievable!
While trolling we have been catching kingfish, mahi-mahi and a few bonitos along, and outside the reef in 90-110 feet of water. The go-to fishing rig has been fresh bonito strips behind blue and pink sea witch feathers. We have been running these baits behind planers about 60-70 feet behind the boats and about 20 feet below the surface.
