Jerry, from Virginia, who fishes regularly with the Lady Pamela II, came to Fort Lauderdale hoping to land a daytime Swordfish. It’s common to see Marlin while running out to Sworfish grounds, so we trolled some serious lures all the way out hoping to see a billfish. When we hit about 1800 ft of water, electric reels were ready to go. Fresh squid and bloody bonito were on their way down. We made three drops, didn’t get a bite, not even a nibble. In the distance we saw tuna’s galore. We put out little feathers to catch their eye, but all we could catch were arctic bonito, which aren’t good eating.
