One of the Lady Pamela II sportfishing specialties is swordfishing, either as day or night charters. Last night we had a swordfish charter that from 6 PM to 2 AM. We ran off shore nearly 12 miles with a light southeast wind blowing 5 to 10 miles an hour, and seas of 2 feet or less. We had ideal nighttime swordfishing conditions. We also had lots of action with not one, but three rare Cuban night shark hookups. These are deep water, bottom feeding sharks that run about 6-7 feet in length. They are very feisty when hooked and can be problematic when trying to target swordfish. Fortunately, in between the shark hookups were able to boat a nice 100 inch 100 pound swordfish. We had one other swordfish hookup but lost that fish on the way up. All in all it was simply a beautiful fishing night out there off Ft. Lauderdale.
Thanks to Our Charter Jack Dallal, Pat Baker, Mark Dallal From Florida for taking us fishing.
Tight Lines,
Capt. David Ide
