Today I took long-time client Bobby and his friends out fishing on the Lady Pamela II for a six-hour trip. I hadn’t seen Bobby in five years so it was a great opportunity to catch up on his activities during the trip. Bobby’s buddies were hot to catch some mahi-mahi so we ran right out to 200 feet of water off Fort Lauderdale and started trolling. Within the first hour we caught a nice 50 pound wahoo that got everybody awake and ready for action. Less than an hour later, in around 800 feet of water, we caught a 25 bull mahi and a 20 pound cow mahi. A short time later we caught another wahoo, weighing in at 25 lbs. Then the action really kicked off as we got into a big bunch of schoolie mahi. The gang caught 20 of these schoolies, of which 5 were the minimum 20 inch fork length legal size. The rest were released to fight another day. We finished up the spectacular fishing day with one more 20 lb wahoo that we caught on the way in.
