The Lady Pamela II had two trips today, though as expected the seas were pretty rough. There was a strong wind straight out of the north so we worked close in to shore where the seas were a little calmer. We got a few Spanish mackerel on the reef and also had a big hammerhead up on the top but he threw the hook.
In the afternoon we again trolled in shallow and caught some Spanish mackerel. We then moved out to 100 feet of water and caught a couple kingfish. The seas started to cooperate so we moved further offshore and found some blackfin tunas in 400 feet of water. Just outside of these fish we saw a few big frigatebirds which often point to mahi-mahi or big billlfish. This time we found mahi-mahi under the birds and got one 10 pounder and jumped off a couple of twenty pound fish. Turned out to be pretty good fishing despite the weather!
