The Lady Pamela sportfishing fleet has been landing a mixed bag of fish this week. Kitefishing has produced a few sailfish, and one of the boats had a big wahoo crush one of the live baits hanging from the kite. This fish rocketed out of nowhere to take the bait, and then spooled nearly half the line off of a 50 wide reel before slowing. Our angler had his job cut out for him but he eventually brought the 40+ lb fish to the boat. The Lady Pamela II also caught a couple of wahoo, as well as some king mackerel on the troll. They stopped over a wreck at the end of one trip and hooked up two beefy amberjacks. They were big enough to put the ache in our anglers’ arms!
Schools of finger mullet and pilchards having been moving in and out of Port Everglades inlet and these have attracted some big tarpon. We caught a 60 lber with live bait fished on the bottom, along with and a few barracudas and jacks
The Lady Pamela III nighttime anchor trips have consistently produced some nice mangrove and yellowtail snapper everyday this week. This trip, which runs from 7‑11 pm weeknights, is a real bargain at only $45 per person. Sometimes it seems like the fish are just schooled up, waiting for our anchor to drop!
