Captain Darin put together a little 2-2-2 fishing buffet for today’s charter on the Lady Pamela IV. He trolled in and out along the reef edge, moving from 120 feet out to about 350 feet of water and caught 2 blackfin tunas, 2 kingfish, and 2 mahi-mahi. This was not the end of the action though, as a sailfish crashed one of the baits during an offshore pass by the boat. That woke everyone up and made for a nice highlight to the trip.
It is especially fun for our anglers to catch different species of fish because they all put up different fights. The kingfish and mahi-mahi often skyrocket into the air, while the tunas will dive ,and fight, and bend the rod. The sailfish can be particularly acrobatic with jumps, and flips, and tailwalks. All in all it was a lot of fun on the Lady Pamela IV today.
The Lady Pamela III was out on the all day dolphin trip today and our anglers were not disappointed. Everyone on the boat left with fresh mahi-mahi for dinner! They landed a total of eight mahi-mahi in the 8-10 lb range, and one lucky angler hooked into a 35 lb’er. It was a beefy bull dolphin that got the crew excited with some big jumps.
Every Thursday, the Lady Pamela III heads offshore for this 8-hour all day dolphin trip (8AM-4PM), at a cost of only $90 per person. Come join in on the action!
