Ft Lauderdale Fishing Charters
It was a busy Saturday for the Lady Pamela II sportfishing fleet. I was aboard the Lady Pamela II for a morning charter and we trolled the deep reefs out to about 250 feet of water where there was a nice current rip. It was meandering inshore then offshore. And from experience we know it tend to attract predators. Sure enough, we found some nice wahoo and large kingfish that couldn’t resist out live baits as we trolled the current edge.
The Lady Pamela II was back out in the afternoon for some bottom fishing. Once again using live baits, we dropped on one of our hot spots in 150 feet of water. The fish were there, and after getting the baits stripped a number of times we finally hooked and landed a nice gag grouper. Our anglers decided they really wanted to bend the rods so we moved out to 350 feet of water and presented live baits at the surface, mid-water and on the bottom looking for a big shark. Our anglers got their wish as a huge fish slammed the bottom bait. Twenty minutes later a big hammerhead shark was pulled alongside the boat for pictures and a safe release. Great catch!
The Lady Pamela III driftboat was just as busy on Saturday morning with Captain Adam putting the anglers on a nice mix of kingfish, mutton snapper and triggerfish.
There were nine anglers on the Lady Pamela II Saturday night anchor trip, and once the anchor was set, they got to work landing fifty keeper snappers. There was a variety of other species also in the mix, including some small groupers, grunts, sand perch, and triggerfish.
The Saturday night anchor trip is only $45 per person and our anglers easily made their money back in fresh fish fillets. Plus, they get to walk off the boat and they’re done. No washing the boat, maintaining the gear, fueling up, etc. Enjoy all the fishing fun one could want, without the hassles!
