Fort Lauderdale Fishing – Action on the Ship Wrecks

August 13th, 2010
Fort Lauderdale Deep Sea Fishing Report
Fishing in Fort Lauderdale was great today. We couldn’t have asked for better weather and I was working the pit which I don’t get to do much. As soon as we cleared Port Everglades we ran to the large container ship offshore to catch speedos for live bait. After we got our live bait situation covered, we bounced from ship wreck to ship wreck making drops. Our first and second drop, no bite. On our third drop, we got a bite but the fish fell off. On our fourth drop, a huge Barracuda ate the whole speedo. After our Barracuda catch, we headed into 200 ft of water and caught a 30″ Almaco Jack, we expertly let him go shortly after the catch. Our last spot of the day produced a large Warsaw Grouper bite.
