Barry and his two sons came deep sea fishing aboard the Lady Pamela II with Captain Paul and me. Once we cleared Port Everglades, we went straight to 350 ft of water and hoped for a Sailfish to jump on our bait and/or a Game Shark to swim through our spread. We couldn’t have picked a better spot to fish; a nice blue edge with a rippin’ south current. Our first Shark bite of the day was from a 6 foot Silky Shark, one of the biggest I’ve seen offshore Fort Lauderdale. Right before we decided to pack up and hit the road, a 7 foot Scalloped Hammerhead Shark ate and took us for a run.
This afternoon, Joe chartered the Lady Pamela II for a 4 hour private charter. Originally, from Texas, Joe lives right here in town and enjoys fishing in his free time. The bite today wasn’t instant. We waited patiently for 2 ½ hours before anything even swam through our spread. However, when that fish finally decided to eat what we had to offer, it was worth the wait. A big Hammerhead Game Shark swam up to the boat interested. For 10 minutes, we tried our hardest to get this monster to eat, and when he did, it took us for a run and Joe won. We look forward to fishing with you again!
